Before any full mouth implant surgery, the jawbone has to be measured carefully. For patients from Anjali, this usually means a 3D CBCT scan, which shows the bone in far more detail than a standard flat X-ray.
Dr. Prattik Kkeswani uses the scan to decide how many implants are needed, where they should go and whether extra steps such as bone grafting are required. The clinic has its own dental X-ray room, so imaging is part of the normal planning visit. A flat X-ray is useful for many dental problems, but it shows the jaw in only two dimensions. A CBCT scan builds a three-dimensional picture, so the specialist can look at the bone from different angles and measure it at each planned site. For a full arch, where several implants must fit into the jaw together, this level of detail makes the plan more precise and easier to explain.
The scan often decides between All-on-4, All-on-6 and individual implants. If the bone is good along the whole arch, more options are open. If some areas are thin, the implants may be angled or placed where bone is strongest, or bone grafting or a sinus lift may be suggested. The scan also helps the specialist explain the plan to you, since you can see your own bone on the screen.
At the planning visit, the specialist also examines your gums, checks your bite and reviews your medical history. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes are discussed, because they can affect healing. After the scan, you receive a clear explanation of the recommended option and the stages involved. You can learn more about imaging at the clinic on our dental X-ray page.
